Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. When you make a booking with Maiala Park Lodge, you accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure that all of the details on your confirmation documents are correct and to bring to our attention any errors or discrepancies within 24 hours of your booking.

BOOKING AND PAYMENT POLICY- Exclusive Use and Multi Room Bookings
For bookings of 3 or more bedrooms (including exclusive use) a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking with the final payment due 14 days prior to arrival. If payment is not received by the due date, Maiala Park Lodge reserves the right to cancel the booking.

BOOKING AND PAYMENT POLICY- Single Room Bookings
For all single room bookings (including small groups up to 2 bedrooms) 10% deposit is required upon booking via Credit Card. Final Payment is required either before or upon arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel your booking 72 hours* (3 days) or more before your scheduled arrival your full balance (less credit card surcharge) will be refunded to you. If cancelled or modified 0-72 hours (0-3 days) prior to arrival the full tariff is non-refundable. For exclusive hire and multiple rooms bookings (4 bedrooms or more), a 50% deposit is taken at the time of booking. The final 50% non-refundable payment is due 14 days prior to arrival.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT
Standard check in time is 3.00 pm on the day of arrival and the room is to be vacated by 10.00 am on the day of departure. Early arrivals and late check-outs are at the discretion of Management and must be requested at the time of booking.

SMOKING

Smoking is strictly prohibited onsite and inside any rooms. If there is any evidence of smoking inside rooms you will be charged an additional $500 for a specialised clean to eliminate odours. A smoking area is available across the road in the park.

CHILDREN
We adore Children and know that you adore yours.  Therefore, if you would like to holiday with your kids here you are more than welcome.

We would like you to note two things with regards to our under age fellows. 

Children under 12 must be supervised at all times.  Additionally, Maiala Park Lodge is not set up for children – this includes breakable items within reach in the common areas, no door on the kitchen and fireplaces that are lit when weather permits. Breakages will be payable under security deposit condition above and/or breakages and damages policy below. We do not accept liability for injury that would not have occurred for an adult. It is not permissible to leave any child or teenager (17 and under) without a parent or guardian.

We highly recommend that groups with children also book the function room as this room can be child proof.

PETS
No guest pets are permitted. 

Maiala Park Lodge does host Willow (a dog), Iroh (a cat) and two fish.  Willow roams the grounds which includes the verandahs.  Iroh is an indoor cat.  Neither Willow or Iroh are allowed in the common living room, kitchen or guest bedrooms at any time.  Iroh does roam through the function room from time to time. If you have any concerns about the presence of the pets, please advise us in advance and we will be able to contain their movements during your stay.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS
You acknowledge that we do not cover your personal belongings under our insurance policy and therefore take no responsibility for any loss or damage of the occupants personal property left on the premises and agree that you will not make any claim against us for any damages or loss to your personal belongings regardless of how or where the loss or damage occurred.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
We highly recommend you purchase comprehensive travel insurance at time of booking. We suggest that the policy should include, but not be limited to, the reimbursement of any monies paid in the event the travel is cancelled; loss or damage to personal baggage and loss of money and medical expenses.

BEHAVIOUR
Parties or gatherings are strictly prohibited unless prior arrangements have been made with Management. Disturbance to other guests and neighbours including excessive noise and music is prohibited and may result in eviction without refund. If a noise complaint is received a first warning will be given, if a second complaint is received this will result in immediate eviction with no refund.

SWIMMING POOL POLICIES
Open 7am – 8pm daily
All pool areas are exclusively for registered hotel guests only.
There is no lifeguard on duty swimming is at your own risk.
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
No smoking or e-cigarettes allowed in pool area.
For health and safety, swim nappies are required for children under 3. Parents will be liable should the pool be forced to close and be drained due to negligence in supplying proper nappies to prevent pool accidents.
Diving is not permitted as the pool depth varies.
No glass allowed in pool area.
Music allowed with the use of personal headphones only – no amplified music of any kind.

BREAKAGES AND DAMAGES
Damages or breakages of furniture or furnishings must be reported to Management immediately. Breakages or damages to the property and all communal or external areas that are caused by any guest and/or a guest’s visitor will be charged and recouped in full from the guest’s credit card or deducted from the guest’s refundable deposit. Excess cleaning required on departure or replacement of items removed from the accommodation will be charged to the guest’s credit card. Furniture, fixtures and fittings are not to be altered or moved between rooms. There will be a charge incurred if the furniture is not returned to its original location.

LIABILITIES
You acknowledge that we do not accept liability for any injury, damage, loss, additional expenses and disruptions due to electrical storms or other acts of God caused directly or indirectly by events, which are beyond our control and agree not to make any claim in relation thereto.

CHANGES BEYOND OUR CONTROL
Compensation will not apply if a significant change is made for reasons beyond our control. These include: war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemics (with the exception of COVID), health risks, changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or alteration of the airline or aircraft type; closed or congested airports or ports, hurricanes and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, act of government or public authorities or other circumstances amounting to force majeure and/or Acts of God.

COVID RESTRICTION CHANGES BEYOND OUR CONTROL
If a lockdown occurs over your booking period, a credit note will automatically be applied to your booking.  Once the relevant restriction period has passed we will call you to re-book your stay with us or to organise a refund. 

COVID REQUIREMENTS

All guests will be required to sign into the Check In Queensland app. Handwash is provided at all sinks, with single use washers provided in common rooms to dry hands.  Hand Sanitiser is available at all entrances to the main house and guests are required to sanitise their hands upon entry.

BREACH OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
You agree that, should you or your guests breach any of the terms and conditions:
You will pay to us the total loss or damage that we suffer as a result of that breach and hereby authorise us to debit your credit card or apply your refundable deposit in payment of that loss or damage and we may evict you and your guests without notice

PAYMENT OF DEPOSIT OR FULL PAYMENT CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The terms and conditions of booking are subject to change without notice.
